generations

i have to blog fast today ~~~ owen is napping! i just gobbled up a bite of lunch...there is a load of his laundry tumbling in the dryer and will be folded (hopefully) soon...there are some dishes to be done...etc. don't get me wrong...there are plenty of other things to do, but since his nap is not going to last until the last day of next month (haha), i better set small, attainable goals.

over the last six and a half weeks, owen has been fortunate to meet all of his grandparents and great-grandparents, except one. i thought it would be cute to showcase all the wonderful people in his life that can shower him with love and attention the way no one else can. i hear that the love of a grandparent is unlike anything else!

below each picture is a caption letting you know who is who and what names they have chosen for owen to call them! (the pictures are in ascending order according to owen's "age.")

this is austin's mom. the last i heard, she was still trying to decide between "mumzie" and "gramzie."

this is my dad. he chose "papa otis" about ten years ago for previous grandkids, so that is what owen will call him. probably just "papa" for short.

this is austin's dad. he wants to be called "grandpa."

this is austin's (paternal) grandma. she signed owen's Christmas card "great-grandma darlene." her husband, austin's grandpa, is the only great-grandparent sweet owen has not met. he was working in new mexico the day great-grandma darlene came to visit. hopefully owen can meet "great-grandpa bob" real soon!

this is my mom. she is "grammy kitty."

this is austin's (maternal) grandma. she wants to be called "grammie."

this is my (maternal) grandma. she will be "great-gramma miller." (notice the cute smile owen has for his great-gramma miller!!) right after Christmas is when we noticed owen smiling "on purpose." he will surely have plenty of smiles to share whenever any of the grandparents or great-grandparents are around!

what a lucky and blessed little boy we have! there is more love in the hearts of these people than he could ever possibly know!!

his late grandparents are surely looking down from heaven as proud as can be! i very much wish owen could have known them.
