Merry Christmas from The Billetts

We wanted to pop in and say MERRY CHRISTMAS to each and every one of you! May you be blessed by God this holiday season. Whether your heart is filled with joy and gratefulness for all the blessings you've been given, or whether your heart is empty from the absence of a dear loved one (as is the case for our family)...may you all have a Jesus-filled day.
Happy Birthday, dear, sweet, precious baby Jesus.
All our Love,
The Billetts.

Day-by-Day (Part 2)

Around mid-November (a few posts back), I posted my daily facebook statuses from the first half of the month. Now that December is upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to post my statuses from the second part of the month.

Nov 15 ~ I am thankful for my ability to stay at home with my growing baby boy. Working only a few hours a day from home means we have an extremely tight budget without any wiggle room, but in the end, it's worth it. At the end of each day, I am thankful I get to watch Owen walk, sleep, eat, play, and laugh the days away.

Nov 16 ~ I am thankful that my only alarm clock is my son. And....he wanted to sleep until 9:42 today. Ahhh!! Usually, it's 8:30 or 9:00 when he likes to start talking up a storm, but today, it was like an extra long snooze!! Praise the Lord for a great sleeper!!

Nov 17 ~ I am thankful for my health. I am not quite down to the weight I'd like to be, and I have a thyroid that doesn't work properly, but all in all, I am a healthy gal that takes good care of myself. Thanks be to God for 2 arms, 2 legs, my mind, my heart, my lungs, etcetera!!

Nov 18 ~ I am thankful for my fabulous sister-in-law, Cindy! I was not fortunate enough to grow up with a sister, but when my brother met and married Cindy, he gave me the next best thing!! I love her for so many reasons...

Nov 19 ~ I am thankful for our lovely home. It's not the newest, biggest, or most expensive house, but it's perfect for us!! We love the location, the layout, the neighbors, and the excellent deal we received. It has been a great shelter, a cozy place to relax, and a wonderful place for our family of 3 (plus 2 furry kiddos)!!!

Nov 20 ~ I am thankful for all the family and friends who came to celebrate Owen's day with us. All the help before and after, the gifts, the happy wishes, and everything else I may be forgetting. Austin and I are 2 very lucky, blessed, and grateful parents. Whew...long but terrific day!! Pictures coming soon. :)

Nov 21 ~ I am thankful for our blog on blogspot.com! It has made documenting our life so easy and fun! I documented my pregnancy last year, doctor's appointments, Owen's birth as well as these past 12 months, recipes, and other goings-on in our lives! Pictures, thoughts, and happenings all in one convenient place! Hooray for our blog!

Nov 22 ~ I am thankful for my students --- past and present. I only have a few students these days, but working with them one-on-one is super duper!! :). There are connections and friendships that just can't be made in a classroom setting and I am so grateful for each and every single one of those relationships!!

Nov 23 ~ I am thankful that Austin is off work for a few days and we can be home together as a family!!

Nov 24 ~ I am thankful for the US Post Office for delivering any piece of mail I send across town or across the country in a timely manner for a mere 44 cents. It's just about Christmas card time!!

(I failed to date this because, technically, it wasn’t of the “I am thankful for” format, but this was my Thanksgiving Day post): Up to my elbows in mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, pumpkin cobbler, a homemade green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and ham...and that's just our contribution to the family feast. Wouldn't have it any other way. Thankful for SO many things today, but missing my little buddy, Deuce.

Nov 26 ~ I am thankful for naps. No elaboration necessary.

Nov 27 ~ I am thankful that (although Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday) it will soon be time to get back on a normal eating schedule. Sheesh.

Nov 28 ~ I am thankful that the sore throat I woke up with this morning ended up being nothing major. I am also thankful for having the chance to tidy up our bedroom today. Oh, and woo hoo for getting the Christmas tree up and putting the light yard stakes out in the front yard yesterday.

NOV 29 ~ I AM THANKFUL THAT THE IRS FINALLY DECIDED TO GIVE US THE $$$$ FOR THE FIRST TIME HOMEBUYERS CREDIT!!!! CAN'T WAIT TIL FRIDAY WHEN IT GETS DEPOSITED IN OUR ACCOUNT.

Nov 30 ~ I am thankful that this month of thanks has come to an end. Taking part in this daily "activity" has allowed me to reflect on all the blessings I have been given. I don't deserve any of them, but I am grateful for all of them. I hope December is treating each of you well.
