a week in review

austin and i survived our first full week alone as parents. definitely something to celebrate!! :) except we didn't really celebrate. we just sat on the couch and watched a christmas movie while trading off holding an adorable sleeping baby. celebration enough, i suppose! :)

it was great having mom here that first week to help out in various ways, but once she left last sunday, it was quite an eye-opening experience to say the least! the good news is that owen is being cared for as best as we know how...eating well, sleeping well, peeing and pooping regularly, breathing...so i guess you can say that we didn't do half bad! i still have a million-and-a-half questions, but those will all get answered or figured out in time. (i hope!) my biggest prayer at the moment is to find balance. owen is our number one priority, of course, but there are other things in my/our life that also need attention from time to time. plus, getting back into tutoring in january is terrifying me! i know things are going to work themselves out, somehow, but i just wish i had all the answers now. that is just how i am.

anyway....

here are some darling pictures from this past week. he has really been a good baby, and for that, we are so thankful. he gets fussy when he's getting changed, a little fussy when it's time to eat, and really fussy if he has any gas build-up in his little belly. we have a good anti-gas system worked out that has eliminated the "really fussy" phases from our days and nights, and what a relief that has been (no pun intended! haha). a couple of days earlier in the week were REALLY trying, but........we all survived to tell about it! praise the Lord! enjoy these pictures of our sweet, little guy! i have more pictures that were taken on my phone but i will have to upload those another time.
